Coelioxys ~ cuckoo leafcutter bees

These cuckoo bees are pretty wild looking with their sharp abdomens and red legs. Their eyes are some of the most memorable of any bee, as they are glowing green, heavily-patterned, and have hair growing out of them! The only other bee with hair in its eyes in our land is the honey bee.  As their name suggests, they are cleptoparasites of leafcutter bees.
