hoplitis ~ mason bees

Why have one genera of mason bee when you can have two? The Hoplitis bees look generally like their more popular Osmia cousins but with a stretched out body and pointy tips their antennae. They do much the same thing as a mason bee would, nesting in cavities and collecting their choice of nest lining materials.
