Agapostemon ~ Metallic green bees
The closest thing to a lightning bug in the bee world, these bees are ridiculously fascinating to look at. They have the unfortunate circumstance of lacking good names. "Green sweat bees" is most common along with other weird sounding titles. I call them jewel bees because they are flashy green. They are the bees that excite people to get excited about bees.
