nomada ~ cuckoo bees

banner-nomada-20210512.jpg

These sneaky little bees leave the work  of provisioning their eggs to cousin species. When a mother solitary bee is out gathering goods, these cuckoos slip into the nest and deposit their eggs. When the eggs hatch, they consume the resources meant for the host bee.  This is much like cowbirds or their namesake, the cuckoo bird.
